Just received a Baldwin PA4151 air filter and took it out of the box to find adhesive applied poorly dripping into the pleats somewhat distorting the pleats. I emailed Baldwin to show them the quality they provided on this filter. Never had any issues with Baldwin in the past, maybe they’ll replace it, well at least I asked for a new one. As I told them, I’ve bought many Baldwin/Hastings air filters and oil filters over the years and never had an issue.

You talking about this area ... looks like it's OK to me. Brightened exposure for a better look.
The workmanship of the adhesive application looks poor & sloppy, I doubt it would filter any less though. Just surprised this passed an inspection point.
Update: After emailing Baldwin photos of the filter and expressing my disappointment I was contacted by the General Manager of their Filtration Group. I spoke with the gentleman on the phone for a few minutes, very nice guy and he apologized that this this occurred. They are sending me two replacement filters and have provided an RMA to send back the suspect quality filter for evaluation to correct the issue going forward in their process so that it does not occur again.
This is good customer service from the Parker Hannifin - Baldwin/Hastings company. They addressed my concerns and went above & beyond my expectations sending me an extra replacement. I’ll continue to use their filters.

It's so good they held up their end of things and you're happy.
No doubt they'll faithfully inspect the item.
Was it a single erroneous build, a new employee, a cold and sputtering glue gun which had just been refilled?
