Any ideas on who makes the AZ conventional green AF? The bottle looks an AWFUL lot like the Peak Long Life one sitting next to it on the shelf, without that annoying Dexclone 2-EHA on the label. Anybody know if Peak actually makes a conventional green low-silicate AF anymore? I haven't seen any for years!

PEAK still makes a conventional Green. It's about the only semi common conventional left besides Zerex.

AZ green is a conventional AF. O'Reilly's also sells a conventional green which is nothing but rebottled Peak original.

A few years ago I went around looking at "store brand" conventionals and discovered that NAPA, O'Reilly, Pep Boys, and one other (can't remember which one) were ALL bottled by Old World Industries, the parent company of Peak. I think Peak just about has the whole conventional AF market cornered through their own brand and by bottling store brand antifreezes. Zerex makes one, but darned if I can find it anywhere. Even places that have shelves loaded with Zerex's DexClone and G-05 don't seem to carry the Zerex brand conventional very regularly.

A Roses store (think mini, old-school WalMart) has had two types of Texaco coolant for at least the past 3 years. They have DexCool and traditional green. Got to look hard to find the good ole green. Seems like it closed shop over night after being around for near forever.

bullwinkle,

AAP carries full strength Peak "Original Green" formula (full strength). I buy it when it goes on sale (about $8.99/gal).
