We have speed shops in Florida, but I remember Discount Auto Parts, back in the 80's had 3 aisles of true performance parts, but now, only Napa and dedicated speed shops carry them. I guess it is just a demographics thing.

A few years ago the A-Zone near me went all Spanish. Spanish flyers, Spanish adds in the windows, Spanish signs in the isles. Didn't last long.

I complained and I assume others did to. I don't know if it was a corporate thing to do that or maybe that manager put the Spanish stuff up.

Now it's English with the Spanish in small under the English.

AZ is like any other mass-market retailer.
Local store stock is selected to maximize sales per square foot.
That selection will be based upon what moves given the demographics of the area in which the store is located.
I have been in most of the auto chain stores in this general area, and there are good and bad examples of all of them, from my point of view.
The old time parts stores were great and also fun.
The counter people were knowledgeable, and usually had their own intersting old cars and projects. Many of them raced or did autocross. They were true enthusiasts.
These stores are a dying breed, unfortunately.

My Napa here sucks. It is locally owned and if you want to know about a SBC or SBF you are in luck. If you want to know or get parts for something else. Pack it up.

I have to say I have a really good Autozone. The guys in there know me by name and even though I am not in the Navy now they still give me the 10% discount. They also let me order over the phone without a Credit card, I just pay when the part arrives.

[censored] alert... I work for autozone and all stores get the same sign package in english with small spanish writing also. The Ads are the same way.. May folks here showing their true colors. If you were in the business would you not cater to the fastest growing segment of the United states population? If not you would fast be out of business. The Hispanic market is huge and the money is green just like yours.

If you want my money, speak English. That's my true colors. I haven't seen those kind of signs posted at my local NAPA so guess where I shop. Not that that's the main reason by any stretch, but it's a good one.
