How lazy have people gotten where they cant even pedal a bike anymore?

wasnt reffering to you in general, just America as a whole. People are lazy!

one is for street, one is for dirt :)

You are free to do what you please, just like the next person. Good luck with the business, Hope it does well.

Anyone plan on running this line? I'm curious to see a VOA. It will be loaded with ZDP.

buster,

You'd be better off with the 10-30 Marine oil for St use:

Ht/hs = 3.65 cp
Noack = 4.8%
TBN = 10.5
four ball = .40 mm
PP = -54f

Just ran some WCT for 12,000 miles on the outback...worked very well with no
measurable oil consumption.

I guess you prefer the slightly higher Tbn? Otherwise, the Dom oils look as good.

I would hope they load it with things that don't show up on a VOA.

APPLICATIONS
AMSOIL Dominator Synthetic 10w30 Racing Oil is recommended for high-rpm, high-horsepower, turbo/supercharged, gasoline- or alcohol-burning and nitrous oxide gas-injected applications operated under severe conditions.

Applications include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Asphalt Late Model • Dirt Late Model • Modified Big Block • Modified Small Block • GM Crate Late Model • Marine • Sprint • Midget • Kart • Other domestic and import high-performance racing and street applications requiring 30-weight oil.

Great thing about these oils is the fact that they have a Tbn of 8 and can be used in Hot Rods and other street applications like Honda Minivans, where Pablo will be using it.

There is one thing that concerns me about the Dominator oil. There is no mention of any kind of rating for this oil. No SM, GF-4, acea, etc. Maybe this oil is strictly for racing use?

You'll only see the API "certification" on the XL line. Other lines have recommendations. And for the Dominator line ...

Ah, ok.

0W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for use in gasoline engines, diesel engines (API CF, ACEA B5) and other applications requiring SAE 0W-30, 5w30 or 10w30 with the following worldwide specifications:

• API SM/CF, SL, SJ …
• ILSAC GF-4, 3 …

Maybe because Dominator is not even close to having the API/ILSAC levels of additives.

Probably a good thing in a race car and hard driven street car. I would think that if it's not ok for a street car, Amsoil would say so.

Dennis, these oils are racing oils so yes they contain ZDP levels well above the API SM limit.

However, unlike RL's racing oils, they contain detergents and have a Tbn of about 8, so they can be used in street applications. As far as drain intervals go, oil analysis will be your best bet. Tbn of 8 isn't that bad.

The baseline additive chemistries of the street oils have been validated through standard API & ACEA engine sequence tests (by the additive supplier). The Dominator chemistries probably started with an older API spec (like SJ/CF), that allowed lots more ZDDP, however they've since been tweaked (feedback gained through racing), that there is no longer "traceability" to the API specification.
