Because the TRO is going to be phased out.
 
Seriously??? IF any of you site sponsors have a notion about this let me know. I'm going to stock up before 8/1/08 (price increase from heck) because that is some tough oil for modified HD bike motors!
 
If you are talking twin cam HD motors...it spanks them and puts them to bed without dinner!! Wear metals really low and I have seen 1.25 HP/Cubic Inch moded HD motors run like the dickens for an entire season before they get tired...TRO is the real deal for the price on a Preferred customer or commercial/retail account basis.

Schaeffer's gives this data for it's PCMO's and you'll find that some of your deisel oils spec for it. Mobil Delvac 1 I believe is one of them. ACEA E6 and E7 you would be looking for.
 
Thinking of running this in my Mazda3, for giggles. What would you all say is a safe OCI to start off with? 6k?
 
I have two friends who race. One has a dirt late-model and the other has a 440 drag car. Both swear by Brad Penn Penn Grade 1 racing oil. Not sure of the weights they run. I thinks one runs straight 40 and the other uses 20w-50. I dig the green color of the oil.

Thats because that oil is the cats meow. My friend runs it in his 9 second drag car and has for many years back when it was kendal oil. He raced 2 days a week every week for 5 years and never tore the engine down and to this day the engine is still in good shape.
 
One reason to choose the new 15W-50 over the 20W-50 Series 2000 Racing oil is that the 20W-50 will no longer be available when stocks are depleted. I'm looking forward to depleting the 2+ cases in my garage. Had figured there was a change coming, so kept the stock low.

These oils have been in development for a couple of years now. They are what the AMSOIL supported racers (Corr, Off-Shore racer) have been running for a while.

In street use, they can all be used for the maximum recommended drain interval. Extended drain is subject to oil analysis. Nothing new there!
 
From what they said at the convention, these oils use heavy amounts of friction modifiers, as far as street use should be no problem, but like **** said not for extended drains. I have a case of the 5w20 going to a racer here in town with a dodge neon. Will see how it does.
