What's so special about Honda's FF? High Moly? What else? If it was mine, I'd change out the oil/filter @3K and use a high moly oil. Then let the MM run down to 15% and let the dealer do the next oil/filter change. As far as Napa Synthetic, isn't it a rebranded Valvoline oil? Since you have 3 cases you should be set for 7 OC's! Wish you many safe and happy miles!

I know I'm going to hear a bunch of static over this but I have had bad experiences with that oil. I changed to that in my daughters car a Kia Optima, It started eating oil like crazy, I changed back to PP and it went back to normal.

I have a new 2012 Honda with 10k miles on it, I will only use Honda Full Synthetic for the life of the vehicle. I change it maybe twice a year, why cheap out on a new car. My opinion only and of course you'll do what your comfortable with.

You should try Napa Syn in your Lexus. Great oil for a great price.

Talk to the sevice rep at the honda dealership.. I ask about the FF , He said there was nothing special about the oil from the factory. He also said all 0w-20 is synthetic, is this true.

Dealerships in general have very little knowledge about motor oil. Not sure if they still print this, but when I had my 08 Accord, the manual stated FF should be left for the full interval as there are special additives in the oil for break in.

Not all 0W20 is synthetic. Again, limited knowledge by a dealership.

Nothing wrong with Napa house brand. It's a great oil! You should try it. I bought 4 OCI worth @$3.49/qt when I was down in Colorado last year. Zero consumption issues.

Sir1900, I don't know if you read my previous post I did try it, It may have been the particular car I used it in, but after it started using oil I changed to PP and it did not use a drop. I returned the 2 cases I bought on sale, and will never use again.

Ever thought of TGMO 0w20? Its produced great UOA numbers in Honda engines and is usually less expensive than the HGMO.
