Honda does have a very weak auto transmission design for the V6 (and the Prelude H series 4 banger auto transmission).
Honda claims to have fixed the current generation 5 spd finally, but from what I heard they don't just add an oil jet, they detuned the engine output during shift to go easy on the clutch pack.
Seems like most got 25-80k out of their transmission and some has as many as 10 rebuilt on the 2nd gen TL. I was about to buy one until I find that out. Now all of a sudden American car doesn't look so bad in reliability. Sure, interior trims may fall off, but at least the transmission will last me 80k for a good price.
