Need help setting up a wireless network.

Well, I promised I would help a friend set up a wireless network in his church (he knows i know nothing about wireless, but am completely networking savy)

The church already has a DSL router to the internet and a patchwork of cabling thru the offices; the goal is to set up some wireless access points so that the access is seamless throughout the facility. I haven't surveyed the wiring, but it may be that the current wiring is daisy chained office to office with hubs in each office, rather than being in the "more correct" star topology. I have no intention of running wires so it may prohibit the use of regular WAPs; i may have to use wireless routers with 4 port switches in each office, ignoring the "router" portion, of course and disabling DHCP et al.

Primary question is: How are the wireless devices set up to allow movement from one antenna to another without an interruption of access? Is this possible? Don't the antenna devices need to talk to each other since only 1 probably has performed authentication?

Any help appreciated. Preference is linksys devices, since I am most familiar with them.
 
What you may want to do is configure the wireless router so that it acts as a wireless access point. Details on that are located here:

I have not tried this myself, but I have heard of it. Other alternatives include higher gain antennas (usually longer than what comes standard on router) and a wireless repeater (Range Expander) device, similar to this one located here:

Give everything the same channel and service name and of course you already know you should only have one DHCP server.

Is this for the public or are you going to want some sort of encryption/conditional access?
