Need help choosing a glue

May sound funny, but I would suggest using blue RTV sealant or any gasket maker like Permatex (probably any grade would work).

I'm using the foaming urethane glue a lot now. It was the only adhesive that would keep my windshield trim clips on. New oem foam taped clips could not stay. GGlue also is awesome when re-enforced with fibreglass drywall tape.

For now, I've decided against buying the nose pads online. I'm going to check with WalMart's eye center, to see if they have any replacement nosepieces. Then I'll contact Bolle to see what they recommend for the glue.

By the way, those little nose pads are dangerous in sports and driving glasses. During a crash the nose pieces can get shoved into the corners of your eyes and even into the eyeballs. You really should wear glasses that have one solid nosepiece.

I would use black non-hardening silicone RTV. A little bit goes a long way. Simply make sure you have a way to hold the part's together until the RTV cures.

That deserves careful consideration. I hadn't though about the full consequences of landing on the steering wheel, or airbag. Even a plastic that shatters under high strain rates would be dangerous.

Has anyone been in such a crash? I ran into the back of a delivery van in my last saab at 50-60 mph and my oakley's didn't even fall off. The airbag certainly didn't hit me hard enough to cause significant trauma. The dust that they pack the bag with was the only annoying part. If I hadn't been able to get the door open I felt like I would suffocate. I digress but point being a wreck with airbag deployment doesn't seem like a big deal....

When I was 17 a friend punched me accidentally in the face while I was wearing a pair of Ray Ban pilot glasses. The right nose pad bruised my eyeball pretty badly. The ophthalmologist told me to only wear sunglasses with an integrated nose pad. He said he saw severe eye injuries from nose pads in car accident victims all the time. When riding my bike I wear Uvex glasses that have an integrated nose pad and a foam rubber sea, making them almost goggles.

If I wear riding a motorcycle, nose pads would be the least of my worries. But point taken! I had an eye tear up for 6 months from an encounter with a pine needle.

Oh well, just as dangerous where I live.

I think the fact you were in a Saab had something to do with it not being a big deal.

True. Bless those Swedes! That's why I bought an even safer SAAB afterward!
