Had the Kobalt ac/dc one. Worked well but broke after 3 years but only a handful of uses. Used for trailer tires etc at 65 psi.
I have already have a compressor, this is for the small remote needs.

Anyone have one that has proved to be reliable and long lasting?

Does the stuff you need need to fill or the transportation to get there have a battery?

I'm a fan of the Viair 88p as it clamps to battery, fills stuff quick, not worried about charge running out. Battery clamps means not relying on small wires/power outlet limits. It has it's own 20A fuse.

The portable inflators like Milwaukee M18 inflator are nice and work well from what I have seen. M12 also but slower, less run time. It depends on your tool choice of batteries. Our fire engine has many M18 tools and spare batteries.

Our old Dewalt tools also had the 120V battery adapter so we can run as corded if the batteries die. That was a while ago. I think we have a dozenM18 batteries on the rig currently.

For the cost of the M18, I can get 2 of the Viair 88P and leave in the vehicles.

Milwaukee. Love my M18. I used to have some 12V DC thing but anything you run off the car is a hassle to move around to the various corners. Having presets for each of my cars is also super handy, makes it fast.

my Viair400P is at least 13 years old and still going strong. Gets used plenty airing up bigger tires when offroad...

I have the $40 Ryobi cordless air compressor. It's great for topping up car tires but it does get very hot after 3 top ups. I'd get something heavier duty for a what you're looking to do. Ryobi makes a heavier duty model. If you have Milwaukee batteries, I'd get the Milwaukee $180 compressor. It gets great reviews.

Small remote needs id go with your tool brands battery powered inflator.

I have an M18 inflator and a Vair 88p from 2013 that works well. I almost never use the Vair at home anymore since I have the M18 inflator.

Just bought this at WM for the wife's Subaru and her mountain bike. It is the medium duty unit of the line. It's pretty slick as you set the target pressure and it shuts off when it reaches it. When I inflated her car tires for the colder days ahead, I set it at 35psi and after it shut off, I verified with my pencil gauge, and it read 35psi on the nose.

BTW this replaces an older model Slime light duty unit that lasted 17 years - and the motor was good but the hose dry rotted and split.

Same. I like my Viair 88P, works great on tires less than 35". Still works on 35s but probably takes 3-5 mins a tire to go from 15PSI to 35PSI. The 400 is probably what I'll get next.
