Need a new flex pipe for the 07-10 Elantra Automatic. Questions.

So, over the past few days i thought i was going crazy. The car sounded like it was getting slightly louder while accelerating, but not ticket worthy by any stretch of the imagination..

Pulled the car over the pit, and take a look at the exhaust., its all OEM Hyundai, and in good condition for NY winters with no leaks, just the flex pipe section is leaking very very slightly, enough to hear a hiss while accelerating. BUT, the bolts look shot, to remove this pipe section from cat, to middle of car.

Should i just cut the bolts, buy this section of pipe for $121 and get gaskets and new hardware, and install? How would you address this?

For $121 I would get and install the pipe. Some half way successful repair could still leak and put you and your family at risk in the car.

That cat flange is not long for this world either it is bending and looks thin.

Replace it complete and save the grief, never works out well to try to fix it
