Neat trick on kid's TV

A science spot on a children's T.V. show.

Had a big jar of purple/pink liquid, that was a mildy alkaline solution with pH indicator in it.

Dropped in dry ice (solid CO2).

As the CO2 bubbled through the solution, it became acidic, and indicator changed to blue green yellow.

Now we just need an ocean sized quantity of indicator.
 
There's a very cool color-changing experiment I saw in chem lecture one time. Mix the right chemicals together (one is some cerium compound, the rest I forget) and the solution will be colorless for a while, then warp into pink for absolutely no reason. Then I think it changed again (green?) after a minute, then back to colorless after a while. Very funky.
