Nothing wrong with asking questions. Lanolin esters in auto-rx are very good performance additives for engine cleaning. However by themselves do not have the proper physical characteristics for this application. In combination with an aliphatic ester and a polyol ester, the blend is designed not to interfer with the physical characteristics of the host motor oil. All three esters are compatible with synthetic base stocks as well as dyno base stocks.
All three components have desireable qualities as to ep, and lubricity, as well as cleaning properties. I believe that Auto-Rx works best for cleaning and seal leaks when run with dyno oil, because it is the only esters in the working blend. There is no competing esters in the running mix. However rest assure that it will not compromise the intgety of any host oil.

When you come right down to it, no oil of any type would be much of a lubricant without the vital additive packages that they contain.

Auto-Rx and Diesters-Triesters Additives. There will be new application ratio's for specfic
engine category eg. Heavy Carbonized Engines also
High Mileage Oil should be on www.auto-rx.com
today. Auto-Rx will work with synthetic oils, disters, triesters, ect.
However what we have found is that the product works slower when combined
with other esters. It will help clean in snythetic oils, its just slower or
needs to run longer. I speak just from experience of Auto-Rx use. It seems
that Auto-Rx being polar and same for the synthetic oil, they in some respect
compete for space on the contamination. Auto-Rx in conventional oil does not have to
compete for metal surfaces.

I hope this is helpful. The synthetic oil will eventually clean out
contamination over many, many, scheduled oil changes. Auto-Rx in the
synthetic of choice will speed that up dramatically. Dino and Auto-Rx seems
to be the fastest.

Let me ask a long-term use question...if using conventional oil w/3 oz maint dose of auto-rx can I run this combo for the full life of an engine? Will this keep the engine clean like running syn oils seems to do? I have 2 new engines in the family and one requires 5w20 (I use the semi-syn motorcraft) and one requires 5w30 (I'm using gtx for this one). If I were to run 3oz since new would this keep these engines clean w/o any long-term negative side affects? Any bad affect on seals, rings, etc? I would like to see 200k+ out of these 2 cars, both Mazdas, an MPV and a B4000.

There is no need to use conventional Oil unless you want fast cleansing of your engine. As stated above, Auto-Rx works fine in synthetic oil's it just takes longer. Once your engine is clean the 3 ounces of Auto-Rx will work as a maintenance
application in the oil of your choice.There are no long term negative effects with Auto-Rx chemistry, Auto-Rx will clean your seals and refurbish them while doing initial cleansing,
(if not ripped or torn ) maintenace amount of 3 ounces every oil change will result in major benefits.
