Purchased a Wix/NAPA GOLD oil filter #1348, with a 3/4x16 thread pitch. The Purolator PureOne that came off the car is a #10241, not sure of the thread pitch. Web site and counter guy said it should be the same part, but I tried to spin on the NAPA filter and it only went on on a turn or two.
What gives? I won't be near a NAPA during the 12 1/2 hours that they are open (my work schedule SUCKS!!!!!!!!!), but is this a problem? The Purolator should be the same as a Fram 3614 (the "short" 3600), but in the book the car calls for either a 3614 or a 2951 (slightly smaller gasket).
Sorry, I'm frustrated. I drive 1600 miles a week, and if I'm a week off in my oil change I could be half way into the next one
I had to put my old PureOne back on, drain out the GC, fill the motor with some old spare Shell conventional 10w30. I guess the Amsoil I scored will have to wait *sigh*.

GC 0w30 to Amsoil 5w30 when I can get a filter!
