According to the MSDS on the Napa website, it's made by Valvoline.

Just curious, why Dex III and not Dex VI?
You can get some Havoline Dex VI for ~$46 for 12 qts on Amazon.
Or is it you just change every 2 years regardless? Still, I would like having Dex VI over Dex III.

Thanks for the replies. As far as Dex 6, I never use synthetics and have never had transmission or engine problems. I change my trans fluid every 2 years and the filter every 4. The cheap stuff is fine. No sense dumping expensive fluid, and I don't believe in running FWD trans with extended drain. My Dodge 3 speed is original and runs Dex 3, never rebuilt except I added Gunk Transmedic 9 years ago at 230k when it started slipping a little in the morning cold. Been perfect ever since. Has almost 300k miles on it now. As far as Dex 6, I don't need it. The 4t65e takes just under 7 qts if I change via the dipstick tube, 7.5 when I drop the pan.
Dex VI at Walmart is about as inexpensive as it gets. And I've been using it in my old BMW for nearly 100,000 miles now with no issues. By the way, there is no more Dex III anymore, at least not licensed so that's not technically what you're buying. "Suitable for" or some other such statement but it has been superseded by Dex VI.
But if you are stuck on "Dex III" then Walmart is the place to get it.

You can get 7 quarts out via the dipstick? I can only get out 1 on the Accord. I need to change out the fluid in the Uplander (also has 4T65E), hope I can get that much out via the dipstick as well. What problems did you experience with Valvoline? I had planned on using Maxlife.

Never used Maxlife just the regular Valvoline and it made the shifts lag. It just took too long between the gears change. It was like sluggish shifts. It was right after the first change and I thought maybe the filter wasn't in right. I dropped the pan again to check and refilled it with Valvoline and it still did it. I spoke with a mechanic at the dealership and he suggested trying a different brand of fluid so I dumped the Valvoline, and I think it was either Pennzoil or Quaker state I put in. After about 2 miles the trans went back to normal. Never bought any Valvoline product again. That was the first change back in 2006 at 12k. Still shifts perfect now so it didn't hurt anything. Well over 100k now.
Ran Napa dex/merc in my old f250 superduty and the trans was about the only thing that did work well!

Funny you say that, I had the same issue when I ran Valvoline Dex 3 in my Malibu. Just never felt "right." The next year I did a drain and fill with ST Dex 3 and it was like night and day for me. I have never had any issues with WPP products before and will continue to use in confidence.

I refilled the GXP with SuperTech Dexron III and couldn't be happier. New filter and cleaned the magnets and pan. Been several days of driving since. Nice crisp shifting, smooth operation and quick engagement from Rev to D. Perfect. My SuperTech was WPP. The last SuperTech I used was Citgo.
