I’m on vacation this week in Cape Cod and so I have a bunch of extra time on my hands and I was reading a story about how actors prep for and how lighting enhances their shirtless scenes. The story was about Huge Jackman who lifts just before the scene for a pump, starves himself for a week before, and dehydrates himself the day before shirtless scenes. On top of that, they make sure the lighting overhead casts shadows. The did this a lot for Tom Hardy who played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.
My wife was busy taking picture this week and I kept looking at them thinking, “Bruh…do you even lift?” At the time, I hadn’t lifted in about a week and I hadn’t been taking creatine for about a week. I went back to the gym today, which I now know strategically has great overhead lighting, feeling like a weakling, and after I finished lifting I looked in the mirror and thought, wow, good overhead lighting, a pump, and 4 days back on creatine really does the trick! I just though there was a noticeable and interesting difference consistent with the article.
I’m 46, 6’5” and 275lbs, and have been lifting with no breaks for about 6 years. The kid is my 14 year old who is now 6’2”, still growing, and at least an inch taller than his 17 and 19 year brothers. I’m going to be sore tomorrow…lol.
