My old LP's

I'm not completely understanding your record player jargon here, but if you are referring to cleaning records, I've seen videos where someone covers a record in elmers glue. Once it is dry, you can peel off the film which is supposed to remove dust from the record grooves.

I tried it on some awful albums with mixed results. I'm sure somebody has perfected the process. But in my case, there were sections that did not peel up properly and I had to work to get them up with tweezers. I took a good look at the vinyl with my Nikon stereo microscope, and the glue trick did remove particulates that were previously there after washing.

There is no question a lot of the cracks and pops were gone. But the scratches remained and the overall sound quality remained poor.

scored a few records this week.

Micheal Jackson - Thriller (2,50)
Donna summer - Lady of the night (3,00)
Amanda Lear - sweet revenge (2,50)
Dee.c.lee - shrine (2,50)

And a few cd aswell, all 1,50 to 2,50.

and I left a 25 euro technics tape deck with dbx noise reduction. Kinda want to go get it now if still there

Went and got the tape deck, paid 12,71 in the end. It plays well, not as good as my yamaha (without NR or with B/C) but that one hasn't got dbx nr

If I had to guess, I bought this 39 years ago. Looks like $16.99. I was one of those odd balls who played Unbroken Chain (most folks were stunned when I broke that out). Who does that lol

Not L.P.s , listened to these Saturday night with the nearly 30 year old YAMAHA KX-W592 dual cassette deck through the Harman Kardan AVR 25 II with SOUND DYNAMICS 300 TI 3 way speakers on metal stands w/ isolation . Got to give analog a listen to on occasion .

I’ve not listened to a tape in 30 plus years-for whatever reasons I think that I would not like it but jaded by late teen car trips to San Francisco and San Diego and the desert and the Sierra and the Redwoods

Have that Otis Redding best of album on CD from a few decades ago.

Still have a couple bins of tapes but no player (besides my 80's alarm clock on the night stand :ROFLMAO: )

Been thinking about picking up a decent tape deck but still have plenty of other things I actually need to take care of first. Vast majority of my 2ch listening is still CD format through either an Oppo or Sony player.

A good tape deck still sounds good. I've heard a couple at a friends place. Think you lose a bit of the low end below 40Hz or so (similar to vinyl) but overall it's still great. I've never measured response rates myself for a tape deck but that's just the impression I got.

Keeping a vintage tape deck going is likely more difficult with all the additional moving parts.

Have many cassettes that accumulated for the past 25+ years . First install was an AUDIOVOX cassette player along with their equalizer / amplifier and 6" x 9" speakers ( J.B.L. 2 way ? ) in a Dodge Dart . Also installed Panasonic , J.V.C. and other cassette players over the years . The '81 Plymouth Champ had it's own cassette player . They're compact and kept them in a cassette carrying case . Recorded them on a FISHER , TECHNICS , H/K and YAMAHA dual cassette player / recorders . Some of the cassettes are starting to seize up :( . Most failing are pre-recorded . The CrO2 cassettes are best for longevity

Years ago, when I used to buy vinyl in the days long before CDs, on the first play I would record it to my Crown reel to reel, and put the record away. I would then listen to the tape instead for my entertainment.

Later, when cassettes and cassette decks improved, I recorded on cassette. Then I could listen to my album in the car as well as at home.

Same!

Still listen to a lot of tapes. Got some stuff on pre-recorded tapes that I never found on cd. if the tape was decent quality, and recorded decently they sound very good on any deck worth the real estate.

CD as a medium is superior to anything else but it allowed for bad recording and mastering practices so I'm carefull spending money on cd purchases. Streaming is just as bad. Tapes and LP don't allow such shenanigans.

My favourite deck in my xmall collection is my Yamaha kx-493. a single well version of what you got essentially.

I did same thing so most of my albums have only been played once.
