My HPL Cleaner experience..

1 year follow up. A few weeks shy of 1 year.

1 qt HPL and the rest Pennz Ultra Plat Syn High Mileage..

I felt the need to change the oil. I've gone way longer, but my Spidey Sense was telling me to get on it.. 'Put 4676 mile on this interval. The Oil had a different kind of brown hue to it, almost orange tinted..

I cut open the Filter to find a quite bit of scale in it but the Pleats were only Oil soaked.

I used a Fram XG2 Ultra Synthetic and would recommend it. The construction was beefy with a Mesh back support. I scrapped the Pleats to see it I could get any Sludge, but there was none. However, the Media Fibers were easy to scrape away at this point in it's life..

Is my Engine cleaner?? Judging by the scale in the Can and the color of the Oil, I would say yes..

This engine is a 2002 Ford 4.0 SOHC with 124700 on the clock. It doesn't burn any oil but probably leaks 1/2 qt a year..

I wasn’t aware that Pennzoil Ultra Platinum had a high mileage variant.

That aside, what’s the difference between …….”doesn’t burn any oil but probably leaks 1/2 quart per year?”

A valve cover gasket, perhaps?

Flexin a little bit. But its not burning anything, so the Oil was not contaminated in that way.

Nothing wrong with the good old OCD.
Most I've seen on one was 7 years and 800hrs and it still looked great on the inside. To me it seems like the orange paint will fail before the filter does, at least when used on a Kubota diesel engine.

OP probably meant just Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage; there is no Ultra Platinum High Mileage.
Good amount of cleaning done!

Well today I picked up two jugs of ultra Platinum 5W30 and I will be running that here soon after I go through one more jug of the extended performance from ExxonMobil high mileage with the engine cleaner 30.
