My brand new ride

Guys i just my brand new 2015 Kia optima SX Limited turbo, the motor is a 2.0 liter Turbocharged Direct Injection Engine.

Im boggled which oil to use here are my picks Liqui-moly 5w-40 or Total Liquid quartz 5W40 Or finally Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40.

Which one would you pick?

Why not try Quaker State Ultimate Durability. Kia/Hyundai recommend QS anyway.

Sorry, I would recommend the Mobil 1 0W-40. It's cheap and readily available, and it may have more mfgr certs than any oil I have ever seen.

Great oil for that hot lil turbo...

I would think that your dealer ship will be handling your oil changes for at least the next year or two as most offer this program. If so find out which oil they will be using and just make sure you don't do anything that might void any warrenty.

What does the OM say? Does it allow xxw40?

Your oil picks are great, but you'll find a few other brands that are cheaper, comparable in performance and easier to find.

Assuming the OM allows 10w30, I would try Pennzoil 10w30 conventional. Perhaps a xxw30 synthetic of your choice too.

Hyundai/ Kia does seem to push QS in the US and Shell everywhere else.

They spec in the manual 5W30 and 5W40 and since its boosted engine that runs hot i was thinking that 5W40 would be suitable. Which one would you choose?

Either oil will do nicely. I have used everything from Valvoline Conventional 10w30 to Castrol EDGE 0W-40 in my 2.0T.

I wonder if it specifically has to be 5w40 or if a 0w40 can be used.

I would pick either Castrol 0w40 or Mobil 1 0w40 just because it'll be cheaper and easier to find locally, but since you are planning on buying online, any of your picks will work.

Believe it or not, but that Pennzoil Conventional 10w30 will hold up quite well in that turbo.

When you purchased the car did the dealership offer a free Oil Service package for the first year or two! They will follow your warranty and OM recommendations. You might want to check and make sure your not eligible for fee Oil Service for the first year or more.

It looks like Kia for the 2.0L turbo says to use either 5w30 or 5W-40.

I would use the Mobil 1 0W-40 European Car Formula. That oil has more certifications than I care to name and it can be had a Walmart for ~$27 for a 5 quart jug.

There was a thread earlier that Quaker State Ultimate Durability is a MUCH quieter oil than Mobil 1. I guess Mobil 1 will make that car sound like an old diesel.
