This all started 2 years ago when I noticed something odd on the Motul site. I sent them an email asking if this was correct information on their site or an error. They said it was an error and thanks me for pointing this out. 2 weeks later, I get a package in the mail. it was a Motul promo box full of stickers, shirts, hats, red motul banner and 5 liters of 5w20 oil.

Since then we've been using the motul brand oil in our van.

A few months back, I contacted motul again and asked if they had anymore of those sticker sheets as I was wanting the black round sticker at the lower left of the page. We're using this sticker to identify how many time we've used their products for an oil change. They told me these stickers have been discontinued, but granted me permission to have them reprinted for my oil changes.

I set up and account with stickermule and had them work on the Vector file Motul sent me. a few weeks later, the stickers were ready. because this is a licensed brand, I'm not allowed to profit from the sale of these stickers. But just in case you want to buy one, you can order them from my Motul stickermule site.

I have noticed in the past that MOTUL seems very customer focus and engaged than other brands. Have a local Euro indy shop down the road from me that was a AMSOIL seller and they converted over to MOTUL that went out of their way with tons of advertising and setup material display and stocked them deep with inventory.

Sad news a few days ago. I went to order the typical Motul oil for the van and the site (racing oils direct) sent me an email saying they are out of stock and can no longer sell me the 5W20. it would seem, taking a guess, that Motul is discontinuing the 5W20 oils as Castrol, Valvoline Mobil etc have cornered the market. Plus I suspect that the tariffs have a bit to do with this as Motul is a french made oil brand. Until this is sorted, I've reverted back to using the Castrol 5W20.

Thus the banner came down and the stickers on the van have been removed and worst of all.. my sticker mule site is now gone....

Somehow, there are Motul barrels all around central texas. I dont know why, but maybe Porsche owners buy it by the pallet down here.
Motul is aggressive with their pricing. I get it by the barrel for a much more reasonable price than any other oil. Seems to do well. I can’t say I’ve noticed any lubrication issues on my customers cars since we switched from LiquiMoly. I’m sure shops in your area are getting the same deal, which is adding to the barrel supply.

I'll have to check the motorcycle shops to see if they can get the oil. The local BMW motorcycle shops doesn't..

Few years back Motul started to blend oils here in the US. Not sure who is doing it for them.

I am pretty sure they have a blending plant here in "Merica

Using the Motul site location tool. I searched several zip codes in our area and found on BMW motorcycle shop that uses the Motul brand.. Other than that, there's zero shops in MD that use this motor oil. I suspect Motul pulled their oils because of too much comp from valvoline, mobil, castrol etc,. I guess what I could do is speak with the shop that does my oil changes and ask if they can order Motul by the barrel..

edit my above comment.. although motul list the retailers who sell the Motul oils they do not stock or sell the 5W20..

Not giving up on motul just yet. I spoke with a amazon retailer who sells the BG products I need. he said he would source the Motul 5w20 I need and set up shop on zon so I could order it from him. I can tell the Castrol just isn't as fluiant the Motul oils.. I need to get back to this assuming I can locate a suitable and reputable retailer.

yep, i can confirm that..on Rennlist forum most of the drivers who want to replace their OEM mobil-porsche oil go for motul. there was a represantive on the forum to answer their questions.
I wonder if they are like "TOTAL" out of France in that they ship it in very large bulk containers over and then bottle here?
total's facilities are the ones that blend oil for motul in europe, they dont own their own blending factory.
