Stopped by Autozone to grab some valvoline restore and protect 10w-40 motorcycle oil, it showed in stock on the app but store staff couldn't locate it so I left empty handed. What I did notice was $18/qt Motul 7000, which is hard to find info online about, especially for the US market. It appears to be a lower end product closer to 5100 than 7100…

Wonder if this is new or has it been a product they carried for a long time. Anyone ever try it? Ive only ever used 300v, which has been excellent.

This is the 1st time I see Motul 7000—I'm sure there no such a Motul product.
There are 7100 (full syn) and 5100 (syn blend).

Here is the Motul 7100 10W-40:

@car54,

You just stocked up on Maxima and another oil in quantity, and drained 300v after 350 mi. I'll give you my address and ship me the oil you drain as long as you keep it clean and I'll be in supply for a decade. Lol.

I agree with japanese, there is no Motul 7000.

@Japanese,

The picture in his post shows motul 7000, however I am at a loss as to where that picture was taken as you are correct about only a 7100.

This 7000 10w-40 probably is Gr.III but w/o the small ester % 7100 and the semi-syn 5100 10w-40's have.
7000 seems to be rare (somewhat limited to the Asian market). The pic on AutoZone site says "made in the US" btw.

7100 4T 10w-40 showed excellent shear stability(1.6% visc.loss.2023,made in France) in the D7109 , 90 cycles test the Russian oilclub did.

It looks like Motul 7000 10W-40 and 10W-50 are available only on some Asian markets, but not all. Also it doesn't say ester on the front label. So, it's definitely a lower grade product than 7100 series. (I posted links above as well)
