A woman gave me 3-12 oz. bottles of Motorvator Dot 3 Brake Fluid in unopened plastic cans today. It says made for Kmart on the bottle. She has no idea how long it has been in her shed. One of the bottles is kind of squeezed in, but the other 2 look normal.

Is there a shelf life on unopened plastic cans? Would you guys use this brand or should I just dump it in the recycle can?

Don't think I would use it.

Here is my recollection:
Motorvator private label went out in the mid/late 1990's, when Kmart allowed Penske to operate their remaining Auto Centers. The Penske brand was also used to replace many/most/all Motorvator labeled products. That puts the brake fluid 15+ years old.

Take it to your local toxic waste center. The squeezed in bottle means that part of the fluid has evaporated through the pores in the plastic.
