Stopped by the AT&T cell phone store due to issues with my P.O.S. Samsung phone...I asked about a Motorola phone as I never had a issue with with my previous phone which was Motorola...I had a Motorola phone for years and it took a lot of abuse and worked perfectly...This is my third Samsung phone in 6 months due the issues...I was told by the AT&T store that Motorola is going belly up soon...Thats hard to beleve as Motorola makes the best products...Threw the years I have had several CB's and other stuff from Motorola and never ever had a issues with anything from Motorola.

Did anyone else hear that about Motorola?.

The AT&T cell phone store [where I live] has just about all Samsung phones now.

It is hard for me to believe this true about Motorola.

I think Motorola is reducing cooperation with ATT. ATT + Apple iPhone is not very compatible with Verizon + Motorola Droid.

True or not, if a salesperson has 90% of their inventory in Samsung, they're going to say that anything else that you want ..and they don't have ..is defunct ..obsolete ..going under ..garbage ..

I don't know what sign they hang out there when they hire. "Liars and thieves apply - EXPERIENCED ONLY"

..but this time it appears to have some merit

Thank for link Gary Allan...Its very hard to find good help down here.

not true. I live down the street from their facilities and know numerous people who work there. certainly there was a time when their handset division was under scrutiny - but not now! they're hot again with great potential!

My brother worked for Motorola, and they are in it for the long run.
I just painted a house for a VP at Motorola - his remodeling bill for everything/evrybody was just under $3,000,000.00.
He is not expecting problems.

Sounds good!...I might have go back to Verizon to get a Motorola phone but I have another year to go on my contract with AT&T...Overall when it comes to to cell phones I think Verizon is a lot better then AT&T and all the rest of them...Verizon has clearer voice and better everything.

I will not another Samsung product ever...Though the years SAMSUNG was the worst of the worst...For me anyway.

I always liked to use Motorola transistors in place of Japanese transisotrs in a lot of Radio's because they where not as heavily biased and had better inter mod specifications ie they sounded better even though the power ouput was less! A lot of my friends thought I was nuts when I would do this but I have always gotten compliments on how nice my radios sound on SSB which is where I spend my time or used to at least.

Likewise all ofmy phones from Moto have always been bullet proof and easily up to Mil-Spec.!!! I am hard on phones. My love handles mean my phone sticks out away from my body more then others so I get them caught on door frames and such and they go flying!!!!

I can also tell you being in the phone business that Motorola phones for my company have more warranty issues than any other manufacturer. The DROID and CLIQ are make or break phones from Motorola this year.

+1

Motorola's not going anywhere. Although tech memories are short these days, it wasn't that long ago that the almost EVERYONE was toting a RAZR around. Moto is back in the game these days with a respectable phone and a hot operating system (ie the DROID)

Even the commercials are attention getters (the meteors crashing into earth and then opening to reveal the DROID inside)
