One of my Tauruses needs an oil change soon. I usually use M1 because its cold here in NJ and I like to have better flow ability. However AAP has Motorcraft on sale with a Motocraft filter for $24.99?

I am running Motorcraft 5w30 in my Altima 3.5. It is made by Conoco Phillips. Good oil. As a quick side note.... With AAP Motorcraft special... Upgrade for $4 extra to the Mobil 1 oil filter which puts the price at $28.99. A very good oil filter that is a better filter than the Purolator.

Seems like a lot for a synblend and $3.50 filter. The other synblends run around $15-$18. The M/C oil is still good. Wouldn't be surprised to see the $12 M1 rebate kick in soon.

You can buy a better deal with at Walmart with full synthetic Quaker State Ultimate Durability for $19.77 or Pennzoil Platinum for $22.47 and add your own M/C or equivalent filter for $3.50. And that doesn't even include the rebates being offered by SOPUS ($7 for Quaker State Ultimate Durability and $10 for PP).

For that kinda money, spend the extra money and get M1. 5 quarts is all your engine needs, so one jug on sale and you're done! Or stick with PP, it's better than M1 (in my humble opinion!

)!

I'd look into a better filter if I was you. Motorcraft filters are suffering the same quality control issues as Purolator with torn media and all that other [censored]. I'd go with Napa Gold or Wix for a filter if it was my car!

Yes it is good oil. You can use it with confidence/

Of course many here have opinions and suggestions. Many of them are good and do intend to help you save money any choose good products.

Yes this is good oil and filter.
You get a much better deal at Wally as the oil is 18 bucks and the filter us under 4.
I have used MC filters for decades with no issues.

MC SynBlend still good oil. However, unlike the early to mid 2000's, not the value price at retail it once was. Many equivalent or full synthetic oils can now be had for the same price or less now.

If you can order from a local NAPA 5 quarts of PPPP and a Napa Gold filter. With rebate the oil change will cost you around $16. Motorcraft is a good oil. Meets current API ISLAC specs.

It is a great oil. The only issues are 1)price point-for less money, you can do as well, for the same or slightly more can go full syn. and 2)accessibility- there are very few retail establishments (at least around me)that sell it anymore, unless one goes to the dealer.

Someone on here recently posted a picture inside the oil fill opening of an 09 Ford Fusion V6 with 258k miles. It had seen oil changes by the Ford dealer and looked spotless. The local Quiklane does very good work. Prob better than me.
