But you probably aren't going to let your car sit for 2 months and besides wouldn't it start mixing agian once the engine oil starts getting hot and circulating?

The German's have, the Japanese have not, and w/the American's, I believe just the Chevy Corvette is the only vehicle.

I think Ford requires the use of a very specific grade of synthetic in the GT500 Mustang and Ford GT.
 
Usually when it sounds to good to be true, IT IS! If it wasn't so expensive I would try it.
 
I run MotorSilk in my F250 and Ford CVPI. I regularly see 27mpg average on the freeway in the diesel F250 and get 20mpg in town with the CVPI.

Oil temperatures in the diesel were around 180F and after treating with MotorSilk, they dropped to 170F. My used oil analysis on the diesel always come back with very low wear metal levels, I am using bypass submicron filtration too.

I bought a bottle of the stuff for my Dad's '99 Infiniti I30. They drove to the coast to visit, a 300 mile trip one way and recorded an average economy of 38mpg freeway.

Believe what you will about additives, I'm liking what I've found using MotorSilk.
 
I run archoil ar 9100 I believe motorsilk owned by the same company..i agree with you great stuff!!I noticed the same as you in your diesel.woofwagon, check out archoil ar9100 its an all esters formula nano potassium borate its a step up of motor silk..go to their web site.

I used motorsilk in both my A4 and S4 and didn't notice a difference. I did use it twice in my A4 per recommendation of one of the people who work there. They said use it a second time as a follow up treatment at around 30k miles. No difference what so ever. What I did find was that on my S with a much bigger and more free flowing exhaust I was able to stretch my mileage to around 500+ all highway as opposed to before I put on the new exhaust (including eliminating pre cats and putting in high flow main cats). City driving is the same or worse than before. Of course this difference was before I used motorsilk. No change since.

But only in the proper forms and treatment levels for the specific application.

These Borons are in already in most motor oils and ATFs.


I understand. Your article, judging by the date on the link you posted means these products were in use by oil companies, and have been around for quite some time. So they aren't as new as some of the marketing of these additives are leading us to believe. They really aren't all that new and cutting edge, but I do see they have a purpose.

Interesting.

And liqui-moly ceratec is THE top shelf of boron additives and ceramic nano particles.
Try it. Top of the line with a price to match.

I've been a long time reader of BITOG and finally got around to opening an account.

I did my research on boron additives after I heard about MotorSilk being used in our machine shop to lengthen tool life.

I have to say I'm really impressed with the results I've seen with MotorSilk, verified with mileage data and UOA reports.

I even purchased some of the spray form for use around the rest of the vehicles. I may use the bearing grease for repacking the wheel bearings on my equipment trailer. Certainly couldn't hurt.
 
Digging up an old thread, I am thinking about trying this in my 2003 CRV with a bypass filter setup. Has anyone tried this stuff out since posting on this thread last?
