Whats the most expensive mod you'v done to your machine ?
Would you do it again ?
Totall value of mods on bike ?

#1 either my titanium exhaust or a combination of carbon fiber bits.

#2 NO.. wish i had my money back.. although my bike looks cool.

#3 just over $8,000 in mods on my R1 and i stopped.. very few of those mods would i repeat.. maybee $2,000 worth of them (maybee)

when i buy a new toy i tend to go "mod-crazy" doesnt matter what it is, bikes, autos, guns,.. you get the idea.. just wondering how many of you are in this same boat. With age im learning to slow this down a bit..

Expensive is not in my motorcycle dictionary - but cheap is. All my bikes are modified, most of the work is done by me,parts got from a mate or swap meet. I'm not into the latest flash bling,just what works for me on my bike.

The whole thing I did on my 2004 Road King Classic. The 124" S&S engine alone cost about 8000 Euros. On the other hand, after completion of the whole project it produced 148 hp on the dyno. It was a rather quick bike.

No, I probably would not do it again. Instead I would stick with a 95" big bore kit and enjoy the ride.

Just about every machine being sold today is far more capable that the person buying it.

I did a bunch of mods to my old 1970s Yamaha RDs but that was for efficiency, durability and a bit of performance. I basically modernized old machines. Practical stuff first and foremost. If it ends up looking good, that's OK by me.

However, I don't go out to buy stuff just to make the bike look good or fast. That's just window dressing. Not much different than a woman putting on makeup and jewelry.

Chrome don't get you home.

Not really a mod, but I acquired a second set of wheels/brake m/c and caliper from a wr250x for my wr250r so it can have an identity crisis...

Full suspension front and rear is probably the most expensive change.

Change the braking system was also up there.

about 1k to get 42 rear wheel horsepower out of 16 cubic inches.
as measured by a factory pro ec997a eddy current dyno.

agreed, All my mods were either aimed at performance or weight reduction, but the amounts of $ i spent to get there were just silly and the end result i think i could have put it elsewhere to gain more..

oh ive been there. In 2009 i bought a 2009 yfz450r. I raced motocross, and really wanted a good setup, and something that would be easier on my body. Well 16k later in mods(not including the purchase price of the quad) i have a pro quality racebike, and all our tracks have shutdown

I haven't spent much on this bike. Most expensive is probably the rizoma undertail which cleaned it up a bunch and removed a few pounds up high. Most useful on this bike was the Z-bomb ($79). Followed up by the E-bay slip-on which cut about 17 pounds (remove the cat and huge mass of steel). The powercommander helps too.

I would do all of them again. If I rode more I would add rearsets.

16 years ago it was not uncommon for me to spend more than the bikes value on the engine alone. And then add Marchesini wheels, better suspension, better brakes, Keihin FCR's, sharkskinz, etc. But at that poing I was racing and enjoying single life...

Hey i got every MotoGp Racers autograph in Indy in 2009 in program Roster ! Ive got a Picture of Rossi Signing my shirt (now framed).. ummm, Josh hayes and I were photgraped in front of the bathrooms under the bleachers on the Mile.. ummm, thats all i got..

Ok, i rushed that responce.. Ive actually got Two Rossi autographs 09 at the mile (my shirt framed with photo) and 10 in the pits after practice I got Rossi to autograph a picture of himslf crashing In a Road Racer X mag.. I read his book, not what i was expecting, im looking forward to christmas. I asked my wife for the new FASTER DVD.. Would love to Visit Laguna, but just cant justify it considering im a hour from INDY. p.s a picture with a signed book ? ubber cool !

My most expensive farkle so far is a Corbin saddle for my BMW with an adjustable drivers back rest which set me back a cool $1040.

But I am saving up for new Wilbers front and rear shocks that will cost around $1600.

Farkling: it's a serious addiction.
