LOL, ok, you have the best reply or all!

I've attended various industry seminars over the years, and have hardened my behaviour in them to seek out the things that don't fit my paradigm, or sense of relevence...

e.g. a three day seminar last week.

About 30% of the stuff presented I could sit there, agree with, and pat myself on the back for doing a good job.

There was a talk on the management of nursing homes, which immediately had me turned off as irrelevant to my work/career, which I made myself pay attention to, and found the thought processes enthralling, and completely adaptable to my world.

It's too easy to pass of information that you don't feel that you need to review as "boring", inane, or worthless...but that's generally patting yourself on the back as the font of all the knowledge that you feel that you need to know.

Whatever

For me the most boring threads are when somebody repeats themselves again and again, within the same thread and across threads.

I can give a plus one on that...............

If you are such a know-it-all person, how come you didn't answer my question here: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/sequence-iva-wear-test-vs-oil-viscosity.202595/

Not sure if that was directed at me, but I never claimed to be a know-it-all, or to know everything there is to know about oil. I said I learned everything I NEEDED to know and everything I WANTED to know about oil. I don't need to know EVERYTHING about oil to fulfill those two things. I basically grew bored of the subject and don't care to take effort to learn any more.

Bill has explained why that's there, ages ago. It's a good way to see what OCIs and oils people are using in various applications by people who aren't posting UOAs.

That type of thread is closely related to the "I've been using xxxxx oil for 20,000 miles and its been all good!" posts. I see those all the time on certain forums.

"I'm going on a 2K trip next week and I have 4,300 miles on the oil. Should I change it?"

That is a decision, not a problem.

I expect to find such people in the frozen food aisle on a cell phone, talking to the SO to find if vanilla ice cream can be substituted for French vanilla without repercussion.

Not only funny but true. I have often wondered what kind of simpleton can not go to the store and pick up a gallon of milk without calling home.

The same kind of simpleton, who even though it's written down, buys his mother 1/2 gallon of milk when she only wants a quart.

Thus another son, me, does all her shopping.
