Computers can’t think. They never will be able to think. The life form brain function is unattainable. Try to catch a fly, it isn’t easy.

My Ridgeline does this all the time.
My VW Passat did it too. The front collision assist would go off as if i were approaching an object that required driver assist intervention. No one could find a fix (two dealerships, 4 Techs). We loved everything else about that car.

This was one thing that made me get rid of my 2020 Accord, same thing happened to me a couple of times and it scared the you know what outta me.

Almost the same - the ridgeline doesnt have auto full -stop- go in traffic for some reason but the honda sensing suite as a whole is prone to false emergency braking - especially in mountain turns.

As does my parents subaru - this isnt a tesla only phenomenon.

While todays computers can not think, in the future computers will reach a point where the speed combined with vast amounts of memory and vast amounts of programing will not only enable computers to make decisions emulating thinking but also out thinking humans both in terms of capability and speed.

Sounds like the makings for a bunch of high speed rear end fatalities.
Just exactly like the famous antilock brake systems that are just plain dangerous on snow and Ice.

True.
The downside of it is that we as humanity may become too lazy to think for ourselves. And if those computers ever fail or misbehave, we as society may be too dumb to take over. :)

when mobileye decided it was time to quit working with a psychopath, tesla cobbled together their own solutions which made things worse.

the latest has been ditching radar on late build model 3 and y

Wow that sounds nuts. Yeah I was doing 70-75 on the NYS thruway and the car starts beeping and slamming on the brakes. No one in front of me. I’m like… car what do you see that I don’t?!?!?

My Tesla can see front, back, both sides at the same time. Does not yell at the kids. Does not feel bad when the boss yells at me. Does not adjust the radio. Does not dream about ..... when driving.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that somewhere between 94% and 96% of all motor vehicle accidents are caused by some type of human error.
