We went to death valley last night. I took this pic earlier today. Sure am glad that I filled up " in town" instead of having to buy gas here!

PS. We all know why gas is so expensive so don't get my thread locked! Thanks.

I'm floored at the difference in price as you go up the ladder in octane. The Ranger would certainly be getting just enough regular to get me back to someplace sane.

If I lived in California I would have to sell my Corvette because I couldn’t afford the premium gasoline.

I wonder how much he pumps a day.
More than you can imagine. This is the last place to fill up before going into death valley. You don't want to go there without a full tank as there are zero services out there. And hardly any cell service either.

There are 4 pumps. All 4 had a car and there was a line 4 deep waiting.

4.03 for plus. 4.13 premium. There’s nothing “United” about the USA. We’re living in 50 different countries.
Yall's plus and premium are only a 10 cent difference vs regular? Here in arkansas it is about a 30-40 cent jump per grade in many cases. If it was only 10 cent, my Mazda3 would see constant premium fuels. It sees about a10% increase in fuel economy on 91 plus over 87, but at a 25-40 percent increase in cost it normally isn't worth it.

If that is the station I am thinking of, I have been there a half dozen times or so over the past four years.

Station may be in the middle of nowhere, but it is always busy. It is one of those stations that is so embarrassed of their retail prices in the store, they leave the prices off.

I understand middle of nowhere businesses have to charge a premium. This business is busy. I suspect this site nets well over 750,000 per year profit. The only reason no competition is barriers to entry to build another station/ quickie mart.

I will sum it up about this station- the owner (I believe it is owned by a syndicate of quickie marts) not only choose to stick an umbrella up your dupa when it comes to prices- they open the umbrella on you.

Oh, how I wish I could open a station across the street. Plenty of business for two quickie marts both making a very nice net profit, then one making an exploitive profit.

Are Californians still moving out of the state in large numbers ?

Don't believe everything the herd says. The herd are people that repeat what they hear and spread it as a fact, true or not. And someone might chime in with an explanation which is more bogus talk.

And what does that chart prove? 2020 was 2 years ago.
