More Amazon shenanigans?

I don't login on any website unless I have business that demands doing so.

But, it seems Amazon has flipped a switch and the U.S. store now requires being logged in to read any reviews beyond the few that are teased on the main page of the item listing. Can no longer simply click on the star ratings to see those filtered ratings, or the aggregate link that displays them all.

Anyone else?

I might be an outlier, but any website that puts up hurdles, or makes it harder to interact with, tends to discourage my patronage, not encourage it.

Good catch, you are correct.
You have to sign in to see the reviews.
Annoying maybe but my devices (Apple) pop up to sign into sites. So it’s simple but yeah, bottom line is they are collecting more data on you and that is their choice. I hate Amazon’s practices anyway at checkout, sneaky and deceptive to extract money from those less aware of what they do when they think they are getting free shipping but the forget to check free shipping as it’s not the default.

I see your point as I do not stay signed into any site including this one and why I like my devices as it’s all streamlined to sign in.

Bottom line I use ALL companies websites to my advantage, low price wins. Walmart vs Amazon

Insurance company vs other ins. companies

Banking sites and interest rates vs other banks etc.

Corporations are not your friend

Do you have an Amazon account ? I'm guessing you think this works for "privacy" reasons.... Amazon and big-data already know enough about you and this isn't really slowing them down.

I stay logged in to Amazon and Bob and everything else. The webpages will automatically kick me out of my banking accounts. I'm not seeing an issue with Amazon.

People are slaves to convenience and that's why Amazon is so successful. I have never once found Amazon to be either the best deal or the only place to purchase something. Personally you couldn't pay me to use Amazon but I know I am in the minority. I also avoid wal-mart like the plague because I have yet to find a single good reason to shop there.

@ tazzyspazzy For a lot of working folks these two stores help a lot. Amazon has blow outs like the recent Mobil 1 sales/clearance. Not seen it any cheaper anywhere. Wal Mart and Amazon match each others prices constantly and almost instantly. If you are to good to go to Wal Mart then I really don't want to know you. You're on ignore here.

WM & AMZN price match all the time. I used to be a Sam’s Club customer, but they screwed up some deliveries & jacked their price way up. Prime is too expensive, IMO, and Walmart+ is overrated for what you get. Mrs. Bullwinkle keeps assuring me that WM is cheaper for most groceries, I don’t see it myself, plus the whole Wal-Martians factor is a negative.

I used to dread needing to buy oil at Wal-Mart due to the clientele, but my last visit there wasn't bad at all.

I still unscrew the cap and see if the foil cover is intact on the bottle. Lately I've unscrewed just enough to push on the bottle to hear the crinkling of the foil cover without breaking the cap-ring. Trust but verify, good motto!

I prefer to eliminate the middle man and order from Ali Express directly.
It's funny 'cause it's true.

As I see it the only downside is potentially longer shipping times (but not always) and fewer consumer protections. But in the end the product is likely the same -- assuming we're talking China COO vs China COO

Surprisingly their chicken breasts we’re better quality than my Hannaford grocery store.

I never see H2O2 for a buck a quart other than Walmart
I drink H2O2 for breakfast. And eat carburetors. For breakfast. I'm a man.

ANYWAY, @Carmudgeon I didn't realize they were doing this because I stay logged in. I'm not surprised Amazon started this, and I don't blame you for being frustrated.

I do a TON of business with Amazon, AND I simultaneously realize they're evil (or at least arguably evil) and definitely not my friend. For me they have a solid business model and the convenience is overwhelming.

As I see it, if it wasn't Evil Corporation One, it will be Evil Corporation Two. I gave up on "Look Local First!" decades ago. Local merchants don't treat me any better than Amazon does. The marketplace is shifting/has shifted and local B&M is simply no longer practical for many items.

That's just me, I don't blame anyone for not liking or using Amazon. Put your hard-earned money where YOU choose!

Tile grout! Scrub with citric acid paste (H2O and citric) then rinse/soak with hydrogen peroxide. Rinse with water.
No, dog de-skunk formula. Just don't store it pre-mixed 'cause it expands....
