Does anyone know for sure who makes MOPAR oil? The dealership changed my oil by mistake and put in 10W-30 in my Dodge Ram 2500, 5.7. I had MC 5W-20 in it and was going to do an UOA.

Anyway, is there a VOA on this stuff anywere?

Thanks..

I know all of the dealers I sell to carry their OEM oils in quarts in the parts department. Some mfg have this free oil change for so many miles and they have to use the OEM oil to do it free. If I am at a dealer when one of these free oil changes comes in, I tell the customer it's their lucky day, and Pennzoil pays for the oil change. Just made another convert.

I was under the impression that Goodwrench bulk oil is Mobil Clean (which is only available as bulk now).

I think a dealer has options. My dealership was using an Exxon/Mobil syn blend bulk product not the straight dino. This was reflected in the price. I think they have some leeway to choose and it's not specifically mandated by GM. For several years they have used a Mobil blend. Things might have changed recently, but that was the case.

The Chevy dealer in my town uses Citgo bulk oil. They will use whatever they get the best deal on. Before Citgo it was Quaker State.

Johnny and Chris142 are both right. Did the dealer us "MOPAR" or his Bulk? It could be different.
