MOPAR oil filters. . . who makes them?

I haven't bought a MOPAR filter in a few years and have been running mostly FRAM in my RAM trucks. I just bought a 1500 Big Horn with the 3.0L twin turbo which specs the MOPAR 68466307AB. Fram references their XG10575 (I prefer the Ultras), which has very good specs. Who makes the OEM filter these days? MOPAR doesn't post specs for their filter, but the owner's manual references USCAR-36. Any comments on the OEM filter? Thanks! --Rob

I’m not sure one manufacturer makes all PNs, or who that/those manufacturer/s might be. I run MO-339s occasionally, and the louvers don’t look like Wix 57060, or Champ PH48XL. Mopar shouldn’t be so silent about their filters, especially since the owner’s manual suggests that only their filters should be used.

Mann + Hummel make the Hyundai / Kia filters (Korean-made) that I use on my wifes Santa Fe--those are built very well, although they don't publish the specs for those either. I'll have to pick up one of the MOPAR filters (maybe two, and cut one) and check it out. Thanks for the replies!

OEM Dodge Jeep Wagoneer filters E CORE. Other factory MOPAR filters are Purolator made. Unsure of aftermarket MOPAR filters found at Wal Mart or parts stores.

FWIW, Rockauto part number search gives me this.

Years ago, pre Mann+Hummel acquisition, I was in the Purolator plant in Fayetteville, NC and saw pallets of Mopar branded filters being loaded for shipment. Things may have changed since.

I just did the first oil and filter change on my fiancée’s 2025 Jeep Compass 2.0 turbo.

Pretty easy to do. When I grabbed the filter with my oil filter pliers, the thing totally collapsed and started leaking oil. Never had that happen with any other filter, and I do a lot of oil changes on cars and motorcycles. Seemed to me that the can was very, very thin,
Used a super tech filter from Walmart. Supertech filter was way thicker than the OEM. 900 miles on new car. Now I’ll let the oil change program tell me when to change it. Wanted to get the initial fill out. Probably not necessary, but it made me feel good.

That has the Hurricane 4 engine, correct? How's it working out? I've heard those are pretty hi-tech engines.

No, this one is an Alfa based 2.0. Makes only 200 HP. So hopefully it will last a while. The Hurricane 4 is tuned pretty sharply to make over 300 hp from 2 liters and a turbo.
The 200 hp motor doesn’t even feel turbocharged. No audible whine, and no turbo lag. As one poster said it also sounds like a box of rocks. 🤣🤣🤣. As long as she gets her 10 years out of it.

There's no discernable turbo noise in my Hurricane I-6 3.0 either. . . but I'm a little hard of hearing these days. Overall, it's a very quiet engine. I expect that the Hurricane 4 will be a lot of fun. . .

I ordered three of the MOPAR 68466307AB filters on eBay from a Ram dealer. . . after a little research on these forums, I discovered they're manufactured by Champion Labs, and are visually identical to the ACDelco PF63 and the Champ PH10063. I'll probably just use the Champ brand next time I need to buy filters. Externally, they seem well-made and have an e-Core filter media. Filtration specs are unobtanium. FYI

RockAuto still seems to have a decent stock at the moment of Champ PH10063 oil filters. As mentioned, with the bankruptcy, these are not going to be around for much longer if you are wanting that design of filter.
