Mopar MS-10838 Power Steering Fluid

My mom's 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee calls for this stuff, so I researched it online. All I found is that it is specially designed for the new rack and pinion steering systems, and is suitable for older Mopar systems that use PSF.

I just want to know if this stuff is really special, or if there is a good aftermarket substitute. So far I have not seen an aftermarket MS-10838 PSF.

With all the issues with Chrysler/Jeep steering systems, I would stick with OE fluid so that you don't wrongly blame an aftermarket PSF for issues. Too many are too quick to blame a non-OE fluid for failures caused by their abuse/neglect, or by poor engineering, or by the cost cutting accountants.

I have no problem with Royalpurple or Redline PSFs. Email them to see if it is compatible with your required spec.
