Howdy fellas,

Mopar MO-339 (04892339AB).

In service on a 2021 Ram Rebel 5.7 non-E torque for 6 months/4,500 miles. Valvoline EP 5w20.

ADBV was pretty stiff. The end caps were glued on solid and wouldn’t budge when pulled on. The media was decently straight BUT as can been seen had a tear in the pleat next to the seam. Im assuming due to the large gap.

An EcoGuard with Valvoline went back on.

Had a helper today, my boy enjoyed it. Let him cut the filter open himself.

Tell your boy Thank You from me 😍😍👍

That black stuff on bottom metal endcap glue or….

Great photos and cut and post. I Thank You both 😍😍👍🇺🇸🍺🍺🇨🇦

Base plate does look Purolator. Other than the crunchy ADBV the media looks great. Teaching the kiddo's what we know is one of life's greatest opportunities. Keep it up!

I wasn’t shocked at the tear to be honest, I’ve always hoped that being such short intervals that it wouldn’t be an issue. But the tear didn’t hurt anything I’m sure, we’ve known about it for a decade now and cars haven’t blown up because of it.

He loves helping. Even at 7 he can walk you through the whole process of how to change oil.

You have taught him well sir. My one nephew is like that; always helping in the garage

Wasn't even that big of a gap, and the pleat V isn't very wide either. Must have some pretty weak & brittle media.

Depends on if any media tore off the ragged edges. Some fibers probably went into the oiling system, but no large chunks otherwise you'd see a chunk missing.

This morning was trash day so I can’t even pull it back out to look at it more. But all I can say is I hope not.

I’ve ran nothing but Mopars and the occasional Wix for the last 10 years that I’ve had Rams. But I think I’m gonna stick with PG’s for a while.

I do have a few Delco’s and a Bosch in my stash for the Buick that I’m interested to see how they do.
