Mopar and Goodwrench

Does anyone know who the vendors are for Chrysler's Mopar oil and GM's Goodwrench oil?

I had heard that Mobil supplied GM and Valvoline supplied Mopar, but receintly I have heard that Mopar is also supplied by Mobil.

Does anyone have some insight on this?

I'm pretty sure Mopar uses Valvo.. At least my dealer/service dept. uses bulk Valvo.

Sort of an update.

I asked the oil delivery driver today again who supplies Mopar oil. He said that it seems to be a big secret and no one talks much about it. He has heard discussion about it being Mobil, but it is so hush-hush that no one seems to really know. He did emphasise that whoever makes it, blends it to Mopar's specs, so it isn't just like some other brand (if you believe that).

I'll keep prying.

Mobil makes oil for the following car mfg.

GM, MoPar, Honda, and Toyota.

How do I know this, one of my largest distributors is also a Mobil distributor. They are authorized to supply all of the above dealers. When they make a delivery to one of these dealers, they send the paperwork in to Mobil for billing.

Now, not all of the above dealers carry the mfg brand oil. Some may choose to sell Pennzoil, Quaker State, Castrol, Valvoline, or whatever they want. They will all have some of the mfg oil in stock for warranty purposes, or the so called free oil change the mfg supplies.

Hope this helps to clear things up.

Then there is Ford. Ford has two suppliers. Conoco makes the MotorCraft oils you see in the red bottles on the retail selves. The factory fill oil for Ford products is Shell.
