Moore on O'Reilly

Yes, that fat turd makes a big deal out of whose children serve - it's not the parents' decision to make!! Indentured servitude ended in this country quite some time ago. I have not seen any consistent historical relationship between service of one's children and good or bad wartime decisions. Admiral Doenitz lost 2 sons in the service of Nazi Germany in WW2. He ended up as the last Fuhrer.
Karl Doenitz
Wilhelm Keitel had sons killed in attacks he was directly responsible for. He hung on to Hitler's panties until the bitter end. Stalin had a son held and perhaps murdered as a POW in the war. No effect on his conduct of the war.

Besides, many more people died on those 2 towers than have been killed so far in Iraq. They were not in the military but they are just as dead, perhaps only more horribly so. And all they had to do was buy a plane ticket or press an elevator button. You are not safe as an American citizen regardless of whether you are in the service or not.

Moore is a fool no doubt...O'Reilly gave him too much lee-way in the interview and didn't nail him the way I would have liked...I tend to agree with all of what Bill says and he may not be the best interviewer and he may cut people off but, you'll get the most truthful info from him, which isn't there in any mass media these days...

Hilarious stuff, about as accurate as Fahrenheit 9/11.

Sarin loaded missiles, missiles with greater than the range allowed by UN resolution, enough mustard gas to kill tens or hundreds of thousands, sure do count as WMD's not permitted by UN resolutions and all have been found in Iraq. Were there 31 or 32 Russian fighter planes buried in the desert? I lost count.

I am not an O'Reilly fan, but what does O'Reilly have to apologize for? Has there been a super secret after the fact redefinition of WMD to mean only nuclear weapons? How convenient!

The war was, is and has always been about PREVENTING Iraq from developing/deploying WMD's.

President's Remarks at the United Nations General Assembly

Saddam thought he had an ace in the hole at the UN (France) but seriously underestimated the resolve of President Bush.

Keith.

Iraq did have WMD's, so I don't understand what links to statements saying had Iraq has WMD's is counterpointing? In any event, if you read the text of the Bush address to the UN and other prewar statements, the justification for war was to prevent the development and deployment of WMD's. Sure, you can also find statements saying that Iraq had WMD's, since proven correct, but that was not the justification for war so is not worth discussing or counterpointing further.

Iraq does have WMD's, just not the kind that the liberals wish they had! Think about the absurdity of that for a while.

Let's all be honest here. If Iraq was found with suitcase nukes, the liberals would still find a way to blame Bush. This stopped being a rational argument a long time ago.

Keith, I agree with you. You can't put the entire blame on Bush. I always tell my Liberal friends that this election wouldn't even be close if we had found WMD's. But we didn't. Now if you believe the Paul O'neill's, General Zini's etc. that this administration just had it out for Sadam, then I do blame Bush bc this war, in hindsight, wasn't worth it, period. At the same time if the intelligence legitimately should WMDs in Iraq, then the intelligence agencies are to blame, period. I believe this to be the case here.

'There is no doubt that as a result of the Iraq war it is easier for al-Qa'eda to sell their point of view to potential recruits. Al-Qa'eda has become stronger and more active since the Iraq conflict.'

This is my problem with the WAR. The guy who said this is from Pablos article.

Keith , Iraq doesn't have WMD's and wasn't an imediate threat. They did have them, but we dismantled them during the Gulf War. Bad intelligence took us into a war that wasn't necessary. Even many Republicans are agreeing with this. A few missles like Sean Hannity got a kick out of pointing out
rolleyes.gif
that could go a bit further the allowed don't justify this war. Give me a break. Our intelligence agencies screwd up so bad. This is where the blame needs to go, not on Bush or Clinton. We F'd up in this department and now we are paying the price. Hopefully long term gains will be made from this war.

Rationality was already out the window when Bush sent the troops Bush to Iraq over alleged WMDs.

Sarin gas and mustard gas are WMD's, so I don't get your point, if there was one. The war was to PREVENT the threat from becoming IMMINENT, when it would be too late to react.

You are happy we stopped the threat, right?

Are our intelligence gathering operations not where they should be? Clearly, but we did the right thing even knowing what we know today. Saddam was fixing to buy uranium from Niger and processing equipment from various sources. Joe Wilson lied about that, was removed as a speaker from the democrat convention and removed from JFKerry's web site. Sandy "light Fingers" Berger was downgraded from "Senior Advisor" to "consultant" to incommunicado and never to be seen again. It's a tough business!

Al-Qaeda are not done yet. Witness the risk alert in NYC, based on information from captured Al-Qaeda. The Holland Tunnel is closed today to inbound trucks.

It warms my heart to see the bad guys on the run and I cross all my fingers and toes every day that we are doing enough. I know we haven't done enough to lock down our borders, and that really concerns me. We could be doing more in the middle east, but are going where we get the best bang for the buck (figuratively speaking) and the terrorists are seeing their safe havens shrink and shrink and shrink. This is FAR from over.

Not even Bush claims the remnants of old weapons that were found constitute WMDs of the scope he said were there, and that were the primary reason he gave the public to invade Iraq.

Of course there were left over chemical weapons in Iraq. They once had a lot of them and used them. And their system was too screwed up to get rid of all of them. There is no evidence of an active WMD program.

Am I happy we squandered over 1,000 American lives ,several hundred billion dollars and much of what good will we had left in the world to do it? Héll no. Are you?

It would have helped if we had done more in the contries where Al Queda was getting support instead of Iraq.

Afghanistan was a good target, but unfortunately our chicken hawk administration wasn't agresive enough at the start in Afghanistan and let much of Al Queda slip away while they tried to farm out the dirty work to the locals.

"Of course" they have illegal WMD's. Could be a new JFKerry campaign slogan? Nah, probably not wise

Saddam rolled the dice, banked on French support paid for with UN money (and therefore, US money!) and Bush didn't blink. Saddam won't be buying uranium from Niger any time soon.

Too much here, not enough there, doom and gloom.

Go and have a beer for goodness sake!

Keith - Do you actually have any gainful use for your time besides posting a constant stream of discredited righ-wing propaganda on message boards?

Or is that, in fact, your employment?
