Money Doesn't Make a Better Person.....

Yep. Like I've always said, both Blue and Red have no problem spending other people's green to get re-elected.

Maybe, just maybe all of those "non-working people" who are so loathed and despised on here WOULD BE working IF the hard right wing would STOP rewarding U.S. based corporations for outsourcing/off shoring ALL of the work to foreign nations?

Also, maybe if there were some kind of EQUAL trade considerations, which actually benefit U.S. and OUR workers, and NOT just foreign interests and their U.S. based investors, there would be jobs around?
But NO, we just CANNOT go against the old, hard core, right wing BEE ESS 'free trade/open markets/global economy' "principles"(which are TOTALLY KILLING this country), can we, as that would be too "commie/socialist/liberal".
It is one thing to HATE on non-workers when there ARE viable, living wage jobs around (and I agree with THAT!).

But when you support parties/worldviews/entities which throw EVERY and ANY obstacle they can in front of people to keep them from getting a job they can actually live on (with NO help/'doles'/"handouts" from the 'gummint' y'all HATE so vehemently), that vitriol seems so self serving.

NOT everyone is even capable of "doing what I do" (getting advanced technical/engineering training/schooling, etc.) as all of the chest beating 'gods' on here state, so the lesser, but still decent paying manufacturing jobs ARE necessary for a middle class to exist.

So what are those who are not as "superior" as all of those on here who have their big, top dollar paying, highly technical/skilled/trained jobs supposed to do, DIE, because they are incapable of the same accomplishments?

Most of you would LOVE for that to happen, wouldn't you?

But it's not just the right wing. How many jobs have gone outside the US because of regulations.

The current administration has a war on coal. Last I checked, coal mining paid pretty well. But the left doesn't want coal.

It's disingenuous to suggest it's only one party. Both are complicit in the destruction of the middle class.

I can probably come up with more examples. Do we even build lead acid batteries in the US? Or is this done elsewhere now? Mexico? Peru?

How many new refineries? New nuclear power plants?

How much has the current administration added to the nation debt after decrying the previous administration for using the credit card from the "Bank of China?"

Both are complicit. Both are to blame.

If you think it's only one party, you are only seeing half the problem.

Coal is dying because of technology, much like the horse and buggy, VCR and the FAX machine.

Jobs are being created, but they aren't in a nasty coal mine with 1800's technology.

War on coal

You mean I have to give up my VCR and Fax machine too

Still, that's little consolation to those who are losing their jobs.

That addressed one of my points. However, the overall point still stands as that wasn't the only leg used to support it.

The bottom like is both Red and Blue are not doing much to help.

dishdude,

dailydriver,

Talking about jobs, I was looking at my pension guarantee monthly amount and I'll get over $5K per month. That's not counting voluntary pension, 401K and IRA..... I'll post it tomorrow.

Jobs, jobs and jobs should be on presidential candidates minds. I don't want low income folks to die, just earn an income and stop making excuses.

You've posted this link literally 100's of times. I find it very one sided since it only shows jobs cut and not created, such as the job postings at GE Healthcare you've posted. What if more jobs were created than cut? You're only getting half the story.

dishdude,

I post those openings to maybe help out a fellow BITOG member. I did internal HR referral for 2 that sent me their resume. After almost 30 years working there, I can say it's a very good company to work for.

I still believe if you are born in the USA, 50% of your success has already been accomplished.... The other 50% is up to you. At the end of the day there is nobody to blame for failure than yourself.
