Moisture around PCV valve

Car is running fine, oil doesn't look filthy when I change it; however, I've noticed a bit of moisture around my PCV valve. Does that necessarily mean I should replace it? Or is that typical? Its a 1995 GM V6 3.1L with 160k. I think I put a new one on it about 2 years ago.

Do you mean moisture as in water, or motor oil around the valve's base?

Not water... as in motor oil around the valve's base...and it's only a thin coating..not like it's leaking out. This normal? Or time to replace it?

My old ride developed this after a long period of driving. Cleaned it up, never saw it come back. No oil burning, rattled fine so I left it. Try that and see if it comes back? Check the valve out while your at it would be my rec.

It depends on the day to day events of the engine.
You can get a little moisture accumulation here and there.
You had better not see anything after a good long drive in summertime, though!

You can always take the pcv off and test it yourself, its just a simple low pressure check valve. I'd check the rubber hose connection for leaks; the fitting/collar on the rocker cover shouldn't be leaking.

Probably the rubber on the hose or grommet is getting hard. It doesn't sound problematic yet though.
