I've been noticing a lot of computer related posts on the off topic forum, and I myself have been asking a lot, and gathering a lot of knowledge (sorry I still can't contribute much knowledge, I'm still learning, sort of).

So, with IT being a big topic here (and everywhere), wouldn't it be appropriate to have a seperate forum for computer related stuff?

Good idea. Also no bashing/making fun of people who ask "How do I turn on the computer"

Then you'll have to put on headers for the auto forums:

No US vs Fill-in-the-blank

No M1 vs GC

Come on. As long as it doesn't get too negative, let it be. The mod's seem to do a good job here.

If we take away all conflict, there's no point in having a forum!

njc and 97tbird--> I agree. ...Especially in light of the new forum end-user agreement...

Several of us have 20+ years of experience ranging from Unix to DEC to Novell Netware to IBM OS/400 to whatever Microsoft has put on the market. I find that none of us ever puts down someone for asking simple questions. That's how people learn.

The problem with that is that there are a large number of topics now that most don't check (Including me) I have 4 that I normally check and a few others I'll check every few days.

The volume of the OT forum is not huge and everyone looks at it. I think you would gett better info from OT due to the traffic.

My $.02

I hope we're still allowed to bash Fram in the new forum

Actually, not a bad idea. The level of computer related interest has increased since Jan. It is clear that we have some very knowledgeable folks on the subject here.
