Ive narrowed it down to moble one for my 2002 V6 Tacoma after reading some great used oil analysis now i need to chose either SS or EP. I plan on sticking with 5W30 since im not buring any oil (55K) or will 10W30 give me better results? I plan on using either moble one or wix filters and change the oil and filter every 6 months between 5-7500 miles. Your info is needed thanks.

For 7500 miles.. SS for regular or predominately highway use. EP for severe. Personaly a couple of bucks every 6 months isn't going to amount to much so my preference is for the EP simplly because it is formulated to last longer.

Thanks. I was at walmart tonight and saw moble EP and i was thinking to myself why did i waste my money on amsoil if im going to change it every six months. Ive got one more oil change with series 3000 then EP goes in.

Keep in mind the factory warranty is 60/60000 so you need to stay within the 6/5000 regimine OCI until its up. My interval is the 6/5000 on the Tacoma until the 5 years is up then it will be 9/7000.

I would use the Mobil 1 SuperSyn.

-1995 Toyota 4-Runner,3.0 liter,6 cylinder, Mobil 1 5w40 Truck & SUV ODO 102100

I'd say 5w30 for winter and 10w30 for summer, even though it doesn't get that cold in Cali, 5w30 is nice if you go skiing and take the truck to the mountains.

Amkeer yea i know im still under warrenty thats why i changing whats left of the amsoil every 5K then go to six month change with moble one ep. I was going to do a auto rx flush but after looking under the oil cap its like new.

Yeah, the 3000 Series is a waste if you're only going 5k/6 months in normal service. I would have used the AMSOIL XL series to save some money over the 3000.

I was thinking the same thing. I got a sam's club membership card last weds and they don't have Mobil 1 Extended Performance just the Mobil 1 SuperSyn aye carumba!

Mobil 1 is API certified and meets the SL and GF-3 standards which are perfectly fine for a 2002 Tacoma. It only fails to carry the "energy conserving" seal which is not required though prefered in some owners manuuals.

Also the 2002 can go 6/7500 per the warranty and service recomendation at the time of sale.

You could of saved money buying the 7.5K Amsoil synthetic blend while your vehicle is under warranty. Because you stated it uses no oil -- that's important to me. If I were you, I'd stay with Amsoil.... the syn'blend good for at least 7.5K

Triple
Thanks yea amsoil does make a good product and ive been really happy with the results but since moble one has given great numbers on the used oil analysis that ive seen i think ill go with moble since its easy to find and alittle cheaper too.
