Hey fellas im debating if i should go with Moble One SS or EP or go with Amsoil Series 2K for a six month oil change intervals? I generally go about 5000-7500 miles every six months.

Thanks Pablo so im wasting more money on oil that i dont even need, ASL is what i used to use so ill try that.

The XL line is excellent and so are the GF-4 5w30/10w-30 ASL/ATM oils. I would chose those any of those I listed above.

I"d go with the Amsoil 10w-30/ATM over their 5w30, since it has slightly better thermal stability and you live in hot climate. But that's really picking nits....

The latest chemistries used in the ATM and ASL formulations seem to be very solid. Similar to the Mobil 1/EP, but with even higher additive "treat" levels.

Check out my UOA on 2K with the Amsoil XL 5W30

Linkey

With a TBN of 8.1 after 2K, I wouldn't hesitate for a second using the XL 5W30 for 7500 miles (or even 4K over a year). My UOA was for 6 months. I am switching to the Series 2000 0W30 to see if my mileage improves. Plan on taking it at least a year. Maybe 2 years with an oil filter change. I am not sure if I have the grit to go 2 years though. Old habits die hard I guess.
