Mobile car lift rental

I don't know how places like that stay afloat?
Years ago, places like that Lift & Space rentals) started popping up in the NY & Ct areas in former gas stations that used to do repairs. You would call & book your lift space & pay hourly till the job was done. They were doing a pretty good business, until the "powers that be" stepped in and ordered them shut down as a huge Insurance Liability.

There are two commercial shops in Calgary where you can rent hoist time. It’s a great idea. I wish the fellow in Boise the best. People in Idaho are very self reliant with the skills and interest to do their own maintenance. Hats off to our neighbours!
Do you happen to know the names of the business?

The business model has liability written all over it.

The one I use is www.u-wrench.ca over by the airport.
Wow, they claim free use of hand tools. Those Canadians must be more trustworthy than here!!

They also have hoses and compressed air if you bring your own air tools. They set up the vehicle in the hoist but you can operate it by yourself.

I’m in Calgary over the holidays and the Pilot was due for an oil change so I stopped in to the U-Wrench shop and rented a bay for a hour.

Sure beat doing it in the cold on my back in -20c, well worth $35CAD

I've been to those places here in the States and they are awesome. I did have to sign a lot of legal stuff but it was a great experience. The place I went to has a down-draft paint booth too! very cool.. Since I moved it's much further away but my new place has a garage! Just haul some heaters out there, we're good to go now!

I hope these u-wrench type places stay in business in the states and not get sued into oblivion! Might see more and more of them pop up since the economy isn't going too well here.. more DIY I'm betting will happen in the future.
