This morning I came across something new to me.

Mobile car lift rental. Add states $150, but slim on details, like is that per day, half day, delivery charge, etc.

Nonetheless- if this actually works- neat idea.

From the ad:

Ok this perspective is more reasonable. I figured the first shot was just optical illusion

Still, with it "90 degrees" like that you can't just back it in to someone's driveway. Not sure how the apparent dolly thing at the tongue works?

Would be interesting to see video of him positioning it in front of a residential garage. I wasn't able to find a website. People seem to think FB and IG *is* your website. I thought social media can just get the word out and steer more traffic *to* your site, but what do I know?

where in Idaho? that would be great for installing lifts on jeeps..I would pay $150 to use it for sure.

Take a look at your picture.. the manufacturer is listed at the top beam of the lift.

here's their website, but no prices though

The website for the lift doesn't have much, but their Instagram shows them set up and in use. Just about every one I looked at showed them in pretty wide open areas, parking lots, or inside buildings where it would be easy to position. The guy in the OP is independent so they don't show anything like he's offering or his criteria is he can't put it in a regular 1 or 2 car driveway.

Exactly, the guy bought it as an entrepreneurial endeavor. The company who imports them appears to be based a good bit East of L.A.

If I were that guy I'd have my own basic website, but whatever.

My HOA would love my truck on that for days.

These services are popping up at track day events, car shows, cars & coffee etc. I don't think so much to WORK on cars but to show them off.

I have access to a base hobby shop with lifts, but it costs per hour and I don't like to be rushed through my work. I DIY for quality and money savings and wouldn't like the clock ticking.

I'm not sure about the business model; whatever this guy has into it will take a lot of $150 checks to repay, and it's mostly going to be people renting them on sunny Saturdays.

I also know the speed I work ... there's no way I'm going to get done with whatever I'm working on before it needs to go to someone else

I’d like e to have something like that available for the occasional clutch replacement or similar jobs.
I wish there was a shop in my area that rented lift time.
