This is the other filter from member ltslimjim. Said it was off his in laws 07’ Honda Fit. I don’t know what oil and OCI length was. Appears Purolator made. It held up ok I’d say.

@53' Stude what do you recommend, based on your extensive work? I now use a MityVac for about 5K to 7K intervals and swap the filter every other time... Thanks for your guidance!
I think you have a good plan in place. Even though I use tough guards for way past their rated use, I can’t complain.

I should have mentioned I am using mostly the Fram XG7317 filter now...
Between the two, I prefer the Fram for it’s efficiency (>99% at 20 μm) over the M1 (99% at 30 μm)…

However, due to the recent changes to the Ultra, I swapped to a RP for its design is more to my taste. That said, obviously both filters held up fine.

These 07-08 model Fit engines are so easy on oil it can probably run any filter without any issues. It’s extending the intervals when it begins to matter.

I dont get it. Is there anything wrong with this filter based on PPLs comments?
or is it not very good?
I been buying M1 110A for a long time and expected it must be very good based on brand and price.
I know there is such thing as marketing hype but...

The Mobil 1 filters are still very good. Just not as high efficiency as Fram filters like the XG, TG and Force filters.

99 percent at 30 microns is ok. I wonder what the efficiency is at 15 microns ? Different filter media can have differing drop off in efficiency with smaller size particles. Wix claimed 99 percent at 35 microns which had a drop-off to 50 percent at 20 microns. Which is quite a drop down in efficiency. Whereas Wix Gold filters were 95 percent at 20 microns and still had 50 percent at 6 microns. Much less drop off. Fram old school OG Ultra filters were claimed at 99 percent plus at 20 microns and even 80 percent at 5 microns. Extremely impressive.

I wonder what Mobil 1 filters are at 20 microns and at 15 microns ? That would be awesome interesting to know.

I'd say it looks excellent at a substantial 6700 mi. Without a doubt, Purolator US made. Very similar to, if not the same as PL14610, Bosch Premium 3323.

Thanks for c&p.
I would be VERY interested to compare efficiency between a Pure One & the newer M1-i would wager the P1 is likely a better filter, at around 1/2 the price! Now if Mann just released that information...

The PureOne - now called just PurolatorONE - is still shown as 99% @ 20μ on Purolator's website. Based on their large 30001 model filter. That info is a footnote at the bottom of their webpage.

Interesting! I might be going to the Purolator for my next change. I live in a hot and dusty climate, typically see over 100 straight days over 90 degrees here in the desert and road trip from El Paso to central Florida once a month.

That's why I always attempt to qualify my statements, in this case using "very similar to". I was more referencing construction similarity of all three. Certainly, the media and/or efficiency 'rating' could well be different. Actually, the Bosch Premium 3323 has a very good "rating". Haven't followed the P1 'rating' recently, however the BP3323 rating 99%@20um. Currently my go to.

Doesn't change that the topic OF does 'appear' quite good. Based on observation here, that seems to be enough for some, for the off shored OFs.
