Mobil fully syn?

theres an offer for Mobil 1 red cap fully syn 15w50(nascar logo) on sale at $55.90 4.75 litres
im considering on stocking up on this as a track day oil replacement for Schaffeurs semisyn #7000 20w50 which cost $46.25 for 5 litres..

Why? I am just asking. Schaffers is held on an much higher reguard here than M-1.

theres a freelance guy bringing in "better" oils like amsoil, gc, schaffeurs, motul etc. he surfs this forum too

Red Cap Mobil-1 15W-50 was discontinued several years ago. New old stock may be still good stuff, but it's not the newest formula.

What does that mean. M1 15w50 is back on the shelves. Yes they discontinued, and now they brought it back.

M1 is held in high regard by many on this forum!

The new/current formula doesn't have a red cap.
Silver on the regular stuff, and gold on the 'extended
performance'.
Supposedly it's the same stuff, but I'm going to wait and see. Some one will test it and report the results.

Much too thick for that car. I'd use a good 30wt synthetic.
