I would use HAVOLINE 10w30 year round, go to UOA section on this site and look at the incredible protection HAVOLINE provides. Dont fall for mobil 5000 being group III basestock its not.

Is Havoline Grp III basestock? If not, why the ragging on Mobil 5000? Sure some have gotten confused regarding Mobil 5000 and 7500, but you going to lay the blame on Mobil for that?

If anyone wants to believe Mobil5000 is group III basestock fine, i know for a fact its not. I cant reveal how i know , but if i did i would be criticized to no end . Look at the UOA on the 5.3 chevy that went 13000+ miles on HAVOLINE , Mobil 1 synthetic could never protect that well.

Get a UOA afterwards & find out. IF your engine is clean & you drive majority highway without a lead foot, you should be fine.

Just how do you know Mobil 1 "could never" protect that well?

LOL Some have gotten confused between Mobil 5000 and Mobil 7500. What else is new? People do make mistakes and do get confused.

Mobil 5000 seems to be a good oil at that price point. Could others be as good or better? Yep. Could others be worse? Yep

Now your comments about Mobil 1 on top of your previous Mobil comments, could lead one to wonder LOL

Lots of people on this site put to much importance on basestocks. Take the best synthetic basestock without any additives run in any engine for a short amount of time, and i will show you a worn out engine filled with deposits. Without a carefully balanced additive package synthetic means nothing. Havoline uses group II+ basestocks and a killer additive pack that is developed in house , they dont relie on additive suppiers to R&D there basestocks then come up with and additive pack that fits there basestock. I cant express how important this is when you look at the finished lubricant. TENDERLOIN there is a lot you need to learn before you LOL at my posts.

LOL Who are you arguing with or about what? You stated that Havoline was a good oil. Did anyone disagree with you? Nope. Then you come out of left field and throw in the Mobil 5000 is not Grp III when the post you responded to didn't even mention anything like that. While some have thought that it might have some, IMO they are mistaking Mobil 5000 for Mobil 7500. Then the negative comment on Mobil 1. You then say people put too much importance on base stocks, yet you are the one who brought up "Don't fall for Mobil 5000 being group III base stock its not". If base stocks are not that important, why mention that? Lastly, one can imply from your posts that you feel Mobil does not use good add packs. To that I say, LOL

I'm not too concerned with base stocks, but rather I'm curious about Mobil's claim that this oil can go for 5K in any engine. I'm thinking of increasing the OCI on the Jeep to 5K from 3K for the sake of reducing oil usage. I'm trying to do my part to save the world. LOL.

The person who posted uoa is not trying to sell anything on this site , more inclined to believed those results. TENDERLOIN: the best engine oil advice i can give you is : Accell motor oil and make sure you change it every 50,000 miles.

You wrote "I saw the UOA that you are speaking about and was very doubtful of those results".

Now you write, "more inclined to believed those results"

Wow
