Here are the latest oil analysis results for the fourth oil change (and this was my 2nd interval with ESP Formula 5w30, previous two were with M1 5w30) on my 2018 Corvette, analysis done by Wearcheck Canada: Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5w30 Napa Gold 100290 filter 7,400 miles on oil Oct 16 to Sept 19 (11 months) 16,119 miles total 460 total engine hours 24.2 MPG average for this OCI 7 quart oil capacity 1/2 qt make up oil OLM was at 2% Iron 25 Lead <1 Aluminum 3 Copper 11 Chromium 2 Tin 2 Nickel 0 Silver 0 Vanadium 0 Antimony <1 Silicon 27 Potassium 2 Sodium 4 Moly 87 Boron 120 Calcium 1130 Magnesium 26 Manganese <1 Titanium <1 Phosphorus 664 Zinc 823 Soot 0 Glycol 0 Water 0 Fuel 0% Viscosity at 100c 12.0 I put in more Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5w30 along with a new NAPA Gold 100290 oil filter (has the proper 22psi bypass) This is the original version of ESP Formula 5w30 and I still have 30L of it in my stash, so it'll last me quite a while! I'm very pleased with this report, especially the viscosity, as this oil starts out at 12.1 cst at 100c, so it's held up very well!

The new formula has a lower viscosity (11.8 vs 12.1) and lower HTHS (3.5 vs 3.58) The new version has more sulphated ash (0.8% vs 0.6%) It still has all the same manufacturers certifications though.

I like what I see. I've got six quarts to go into my 2019 VW Tiguan tomorrow. Yeah, I know it's rated for 0W20 LL IV. That spec is for USA Tiguans. For the UK model, it is perfectly fine to run Mobil 1 ESP in 0W30 or 5W30.

Looks good, especially since the engine has under 20K miles on it. I'm running the old formula ESP 0W30 in my Wrangler. IMO ESP is one of the best offerings from XOM.

Your guess is as good as any.

I thought the corvettes used the UPF64R filters with the "super high" bypass pressure. Like 30psi or something like that.

The UPF64R is for the smaller GM cars (like the Spark and Sonic) The LT1 needs a 22psi bypass filter.

It is higher than I'm used to seeing on other cars but it's also trending downwards, the factory fill had 124 ppm and my previous report had 40 ppm in a 5600 mile interval. As long as it keeps going down I will not worry. It's the stock airbox and filter.
