Mobil 1 application in small engines

14 hp briggs on a Sears tractor.
Been useing 15-50 M1 in it for 5yr since break in on dino. The left over amount in a 5 qt. jug from a oil change in my Harley is the perfect amount for the Briggs.
Spring & fall changes for the tractor, no discolor in the oil inbetween. This motor will outlast the rest of the mower. All my equip. gets synth. oils.
Only downside is slow cranking in single digit temps. when plowing snow.

I bought a 2-1/2 gallon jug of Amsoil SAE 30 for my mowers. Now, they have reformulated it to be a 10w30.

Second, I wouldn't expect Mobil 1 15W-50 to be thick even in single-digit temps ... unless you are comparing it to Mobil 1 0W-30, 5w30, etc ...

Amsoil's straight 30 weight probably always (naturally) qualified as a multi-viscosity even though they didn't label it as such.
