Trying to trace the source of manganese in my recent UOA. Does FP60 have manganese in it that anyone knows of? The VOA of Royal Purple Racing 41 reflects 0 manganese.

Motor has about 1500 miles...good and broke in...excellent compression....I understand Mn is in fuel....but havent seen it in previous UOA's on previous motors in this car....trying to figure it out....but we'll get it..thanks Pablo...

Dont know myself....but "heard" it is in US 93 octane Super Unleaded as an additive.....but cannot post up proof of that...was curious if Mn is in FP60 as it is a constant in our fuel.....but have since put that to rest from a reliable source.....so....

Technically I don't think Mn is allowed in USA gasoline ....but is/was in Canada.

I think you are right. If we are talking about MMT here. I think he is close to Mexico so I am not sure what kind of gas he is getting.

Shell/Exxon like the rest of the country.....but we get free jalapeno's with each fill up

Blackstone sez:

Manganese: Trace element, additive in gasoline.

I wouldn't worry too much about a 2 ppm reading. It might've just been a burp in the instrument. If not, I'll add another vote for MMT somehow in your gas.

See Pablo your doing what I did....last UOA refelcted 2 parts Mn.... http://theoildrop.server101.com/forums/s...ge=0#Post861916
OK Fuel....but wait...no Mn in US fuel...where is it coming from? So I thought FP60 was the only other thing in there...so I asked here....but am told by the authorities that there is no Mn in FP60.....so we'll keep working on tuning up this oil and the car...and see what happens...
