I'm about 7 months into a run of the new Amsoil 10W30 59.2/10.6 cst ATM. My Jeep seemed to like the heavier 10W30 ATM better. With the new stuff I used a quart at about 3000 miles and I topped it up with 10W40 AMO. Last month after the halfway filter swap I topped it up again with 10W40 AMO. Now it seems to be it's old self again and during a quick trip to Killeen, McKinney TX, and back to Little Rock AR it used no oil like it normally would do in the post.
Is it ok to mix Amsoil grades like you can with Mobil 1? I'm thinking of mixing the 10W30 and 10W40 50/50 to make a 73.2/12.6 cst oil for my Jeep. It would be a thin 40 weight what my Jeep seems to like anyway.
Or would just moving over to the 10W40 AMO be the way to go? I do 10K/annual'ish OCI's with this car.
